What I'm working on these days:

This coming year I'll be teaching 9th grade Civics, 11th grade AP United States History, and 12th grade AP US Government. My focus as a classroom teacher has been to incorporate more opportunities for civic engagement--pushing my students to think beyond our classroom walls and get involved with our city and state. In addition, I want students to figure out who they are and what they are interested in. Last year, I tried to encourage that through the Genius Hour project. This year, I am thinking about trying National History Day as a class.  

 

I am also excited to start working with Stand Together, a program to help student organizers develop projects that fight the stigma surrounding mental illness.
